"It wasn't a fall out per se because in the very first place, Ramu was not my Godfather.
Oh yes, I do wish that he was my Godfather though but then in his own words, he uses talent rather than nurturing it. So in a way he is clear about what he wants and I respect him for that", says Randeep who is now being seen in Ru Ba Ru opposite Shahana 'Rock On' Goswami.
Did the 'fall out' distance the two completely?
"Not at all", Randeep is quick to respond here, "I don't understand why people have this perception about the industry that if two people aren't working together, they are not on good terms with each other.
We haven't lost touch at all and in fact quite frequently we meet up to sit on a round of Vodka. We are in talks with each other for a couple of projects and it's a matter of things falling in the right place. So yes, we both could be working together again in near future."
Does Ramu's resurrection at the box office, courtesy Sarkar Raj and Phoonk, has anything to do with his decision? "Guess what, I didn't like Sarkar Raj and even spoke to Ramu about my reservations.
So that's strike one. About the other film which you mention, Phoonk, I haven't even seen it. So a question of me being suddenly getting impressed about Ramu doesn't arise. Now that's strike two", quips Randeep.
"See, the point is that I love Ramu for what he is", Randeep reasons here, "The problem with films coming from the house of Ram Gopal Varma is that people have too many expectations from him due to the body of work he brings with him. He had a brief slump last year but look at the way he has bounced back.
I am not trying to glorify him but the fact is that he is different and brave and these are the very factors due to which not many people like him. However, this is the way he chooses to live life and this is where the buck stops."
